Introducing WIRA, A New Style with Deep Roots in the Alexander Noel Design Lab

We’re proud to introduce WIRA, a remarkable new addition available through the Alexander Noel Design Lab. More than just a style, WIRA represents a convergence of heritage, innovation, and responsible craftsmanship. Now part of the Alexander Noel Design Lab experience, WIRA brings a new dimension to the platform, offering clients footwear that carries real cultural meaning and visual storytelling.

Craftsmanship Meets Culture

Each pair of WIRA sneakers is handcrafted in Spain, where shoemaking traditions span generations. WIRA’s production partners uphold the same artisanal values that define the Alexander Noel Design Lab: precision, pride in detail, and a commitment to enduring quality. Every cut, stitch, and finish speak to intentionality and heritage.

But what truly sets WIRA apart is its use of certified baby alpaca fiber — one of the most luxurious and sustainable natural materials in the world. This is not simply about comfort. It’s about honoring the soul of the Andes through material selection that aligns with the rhythms of the earth and the integrity of traditional communities.

WIRA also offers women's styles and sizes.

Why Baby Alpaca Fiber?

Often referred to as “The Fiber of the Gods,” baby alpaca is celebrated for its unparalleled softness, thermal regulation, and resilience. Harvested humanely from the youngest and finest fleece of alpacas in the Peruvian highlands, it is prized for its featherlight touch and sophisticated texture. It’s warmer than wool, softer than cashmere, and strong enough for daily wear, offering both practicality and luxury in one.

Unlike industrial materials, alpaca fiber is naturally biodegradable, requires no harsh chemical treatments, and leaves a minimal environmental footprint. Its production supports a sustainable cycle, from the herders who care for the animals to the artisans who transform raw fiber into exceptional footwear. Choosing alpaca means choosing a future of ethical fashion that respects culture, people, and planet.

WIRA's sourcing is rooted in ethical trade and ancestral relationships, supporting Andean communities that have raised and revered alpacas for centuries. These partnerships not only preserve economic stability but also foster a spiritual connection between humans, animals, and the highland landscape.

A Tribute to Andean Civilization

WIRA’s design DNA is a celebration of ancient wisdom and timeless creativity. The brand draws deep inspiration from pre-Columbian civilizations such as the Nazca, Mochica, and Chimu cultures that once flourished in the valleys and coastlines of what is now Peru. These societies left behind enduring legacies of artistic mastery, spiritual insight, and ecological awareness.

  • Nazca: Known for their enormous geoglyphs carved into the desert, the Nazca people conveyed celestial messages through monumental linework. WIRA channels this energy through minimalist forms, symbolic detailing, and geometric accents that invite interpretation.

  • Mochica: Rich in color and form, Mochica ceramics and textiles told stories of gods, warriors, and nature. Their influence is echoed in WIRA’s layered textures, rhythmic patterns, and bold color palettes.

  • Chimu: With their reverence for water, moon cycles, and sacred architecture, the Chimu built cities that reflected harmony between the human and natural world. WIRA embodies this ethos by crafting footwear that strikes a balance between performance and elegance, tradition and progress.

Each WIRA sneaker becomes a canvas of culture, inviting the wearer to carry a piece of history into the modern world. It’s a design philosophy rooted in reverence, not replication, honoring the past while expressing it in a new form.
